Prerequisite:

Officer must demonstrate basic weapon safety and knowledge

Firearms Safety Rules (Must Know by Heart

  1. Always treat your weapon as if it is loaded.

  2. Do not point your weapon at anything you do not wish to destroy.

  3. Keep your finger off the trigger until you’re ready to shoot.

  4. Know your target, what’s in front of it, and what’s beyond it.
